What booking software really costs
Market offers are hard to compare, and that's rarely an accident. Here are the orders of magnitude, based on the industry's public pricing grids.
| Solution | Subscription | Commission | Who pays the commission? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galindor | 0 to 99€/mo | 0 to 3% | You, fully transparent |
| US "free" market leader | 0€ | 6% | Your customers, added to the displayed price |
| European platforms | 49 to 349€/mo | 1.5 to 3% | You |
| Marketplaces (GetYourGuide, Viator) | 0€ | 20 to 30% | You, on every sale |
Everything you need to know
What exactly is the commission, and who pays it?
It's a percentage taken on each booking paid online: 3% on Free, 1% on Basic, 0% on Pro. You pay it, never your customer: they pay exactly the price you display. Many competitors do the opposite and add 6% to the price your customers pay, without you seeing it.
What exactly does the free plan include?
The essentials to be bookable and paid online, with no volume limit: unlimited bookings paid in full at booking time, widget and dedicated booking page, full schedule, confirmation emails, for 1 user. Paid plans unlock payment flexibility (deposit, card on file, commission-free pay on site), promo codes and gift cards, automatic reminders and additional users.
When should I move from Free to Basic or Pro?
Two reasons to upgrade: features (deposit, card-on-file no-show protection, pay on site, promo codes and gift cards come with Basic) and the math. Basic (49€/month, 1%) costs less than Free (0€, 3%) from around 2,500€ of monthly online bookings. Pro (99€/month, 0%) overtakes Basic from around 5,000€ per month. You can see your volume in your analytics and switch plans whenever you want.
Is there a commitment or setup fee?
No. No commitment, no setup fee, no cancellation fee. Paid plans are monthly and you can upgrade, downgrade or go back to Free at any time.
What about Stripe fees?
Online payments are processed by Stripe on your own account: their standard fees apply (around 1.5% + 0.25€ per transaction in Europe) and are billed to you directly by Stripe, as with any payment solution. Your booking revenue lands directly in your Stripe account, never in Galindor's. On the Pro plan, Galindor takes nothing at all.
How are my emails sent?
Galindor sends them for you, with nothing to set up: your confirmations and reminders go out in your business's name, and your customers' replies land straight in your own inbox. If you'd rather send from your own domain, you can optionally connect your Brevo account (free up to 300 emails per day); it's only required for SMS.
Can I migrate from my current tool?
Yes. The simplest path is to set up Galindor in parallel, switch new bookings over, then let the old ones run out on your previous tool. Contact us and we'll help you through the transition.
Where are my data and my customers' data?
Your data is hosted in Europe and isolated per business. Your customer base belongs to you: you can export it at any time and we never use it for commercial purposes.
